Diode Laser
Diode laser technology is one of the most advanced and widely used optical tools in modern aesthetic dermatology. It uses a semiconductor light source to produce a monochromatic beam at characteristic wavelengths (most commonly 808 nm, or combined 755 nm, 808 nm and 1064 nm platforms). The diode laser works on the principle of selective photothermolysis, precisely targeting biological chromophores without harming the surrounding healthy tissue.
In clinical practice, the diode laser has long been regarded as the "gold standard" for long-term hair reduction, and its uses have expanded to treating folliculitis, superficial skin rejuvenation and improving superficial pigmentation.

How It Works: Selective Photothermolysis
The effectiveness of diode laser treatment rests on principles of optical physics and skin physiology:
- Selective absorption: Diode laser energy is strongly attracted to the melanin in the hair shaft and follicle. As the light enters the skin, melanin absorbs it and converts it into heat, precisely destroying the hair matrix cells without damaging the surrounding epidermis.
- Thermal relaxation time (TRT): By precisely controlling pulse duration and fluence, the device delivers enough heat to disable the follicle, but over a short enough time that the heat does not spread to neighboring epidermal tissue, keeping treatment safe and burn-free.
- Contact cooling system: A sapphire cooling tip held at a stable low temperature (−4 °C to 0 °C) touches the skin before, during and after each laser pulse, protecting the epidermis, numbing the skin instantly and keeping the patient as comfortable as possible.

The Diode Laser Treatment Process at Haute-Derma
Diode laser treatment at Haute-Derma follows a standardized protocol with strict medical controls:
- Consultation and skin typing: A dermatologist personally assesses your skin type, hair density and thickness, or surface skin concerns in order to personalize the energy settings (fluence, frequency, pulse width).
- Cleansing and preparing the area: The skin is cleaned, surface hair is shaved (leaving the root in the follicle to absorb as much laser energy as possible) and the area is disinfected.
- Applying coupling gel: A layer of chilled gel reduces friction, draws heat away from the surface and improves optical contact so the laser enters the skin evenly.
- Laser treatment: The handpiece is moved steadily over the skin using a sliding (in-motion) or stamping technique, while sapphire cooling keeps you relaxed and free of burning pain.
- Soothing and protecting the skin: The gel is wiped off, a gentle restorative moisturizer with B5 or HA is applied, and you receive instructions on home care and sun protection.
